chicherio, gabriela

Born 1980 in Switzerland, Gabriela Chicherio started studying industrial design at ECAL in 2000. During her studies, she had the opportunity to present a school project, a funnel, at the exhibition of ECAL during the Milan furniture fair. This project attracted the attention of manufacturer ligne roset. The funnel subsequently went into production and collaboration with ligne roset continued after her diploma. Nowadays, she divides her time between two part time employments: she worked as an assistant at the industrial design department of the University of Arts in Zurich and is also a member of swiss designer Beat Karrer's team. She works on personal projects outside of those two jobs. She plans to found her own product design studio in the second half of 2011. «Disordered order, illuminated dark spots, artificial nature, ordinary valuables; I like contradictions!»

maranta, donatella

Als Beispiel sei «pictures of a floating world»

My story is like a colorful kaleidoscope with a lots of lucky and bitter moments.
That is why I believe in the cycles of life.
I was born in Kyoto, Japan, studied in Tokyo and Zurich. I earned my bachelor and master degree on architecture from both cities. Those happened in the last millennium, 1999. Then I worked as a store interior designer, a project manager in web publishers related architecture.
Since 2007 I have been working for Riken Yamamoto & Beda Faessler Architects in Zug, often commuting between my home in Zurich, Zugerberg, and Flughafen Zurich. After Mr. Yamamoto won the competition of the project circle, we are involved with the one of the biggest project in switzerland near future.
Next to my job I have been joined to editorial team of japanese community newspaper, edelweiss in zurich.
Writing, drawing, taking photos and videos are my favorite hobby as well as listening

music and cooking. Since 14 years I have been married with Phil. We met 1994

in Tokyo. We experienced everything marriage could bring along, but the baby.
